Through the Flathead National Forest, we found a nice little boondocking spot at 46.83842, -113.3635 in Montana. This spot is right on the road – but – not a single car came by all night. The view from the rocks is amazing! There are plenty of other boondocking spots along (or off) this road, but it was dark, and we had no idea where we were.. Being on a schedule, we seem to work ourselves into this predicament often…
The Ghost Town was pretty cool – lots of history. The ride out we chose down a dirt road through the mountains was even more amazing. Every time I get in “mining country” I reminisce to my days of gold panning in Northern California. One day, I plan to return to that spectacular place also.
Made a quick stop at the Front Street Market in Butte (that we discovered on our trip last year) for a sandwich and to stock up on some Italian food and sweets.
We also stopped in both Nevada City and Virginia City; two other picturesque Montana Ghost towns (turned tourist towns) where we apparently, got no pictures at all… (?)
