After our swim in Lake Powel, we drove a couple hours over to The North Rim, checked out the campground (full), the Gift shop, and the awesome view of the canyon. Somehow, in all my travels I have never managed to see the Grand Canyon. It ofcourse, is spectacular.
On the little trail to the lookout we had a wildlife crossing.
We then found some dispersed camping just north of the park a mile or two down a dirt road. NICE. We got in another short hike in the woods, and played our new game of “Parkopoly”.

SATURDAY JULY 7th
Mule Ride, North Rim Grand Canyon, AZ 86052, USA
AWESOMENESS! A 3 hour ride a couple miles down into the Grand Canyon and back on a steep and dusty trail. Bridges, tunnels, History, Awesome views, awe inspiring trail work, this is one of thoses “not to miss” things to do if traveling to the grand canyon. I’m not sure how well my knees would have handled this trail, which is basically one long stream of steps.
You WILL get dirty..
Afterwards, we immediately hit the showers (we were all dirty and dusty) and Jennifer made sandwiches in the van.
We then took a scenic drive down the Cape Royal road and stopped at a few overlooks including Cape Royal and Point Imperial, took some short walks, and some photos. The size and scale of this thing in something to marvel at, the colors are beautiful, the weather is interesting, this would be a beautiful place to paint.
